Question 260E engine swap

i have a 1989 260E an was wondering if anyone knows if the 2.6 liters transmission bolt up to a 3.0l engine the motors look the same and please list any problems i might have doing this swap

Since the block is essentially (I think it might be identical) on the 2.6 as the 3.0....the transmission is likely the exact same unit.

You may need to check very carefully with this. I have recently changed the transmission in my 260e. I was led to believe that the transmissions are different between the 300 and 260 engines even though they are both M103 blocks.
My replacement transmission was sourced from a 190e 2.6.

thanx for the info guys would i need to do anything else if i got the 3.0l engine an trans or could i just put it in without aditional work thanx
