My new set of Elring valve stem seals for M103 aren't color coded
I just got my parts order and the Erling valve stem seals for M103 don't have the colored rings to differentiate the intakes from the exhausts. Is this the way they come now? Does anyone one know about this? Are they now interchangeable? I'm anxious to get my car on the road. Thanks

I believe the black (darker) ones are intake. I remember it being counter-intuitive...seems like it would make more sense to have the exhaust seals in black...but whatever.
![]() If yours don't have the colors, then I guess it doesn't matter? :\

The exhaust valve stems are thicker that the intakes.

As wbain pointed out...the exhausts are 9mm & the intakes are 8mm.
So look closely & you should see the difference in size.
