did I ruin my fuel pressure regulator on M103

While trying to replace the old brittle plastic tube that runs from the air cleaner to the fuel pressure regulator I pulled on the rubber tube at the regulator thinking I would replace that also. Well the rubber broke of at the regulator and it appears to be an integral part of the regulator. Yikes, they're expensive. Anybody know what I can do???

first of all the hose (plastic line) is like $1 for 3 feet from mercedes themselves (dealer). I have 2 feet here you can have if you'd like to pick it up. The other thing is that I don't believe that's your problem..I already tried that...anyway....good luck

No big deal...happens all the time. If yours looks like this one it runs about $6 or so. It can be installed using a small screwdriver and a little vaseline to coax it in.

I accidentally ripped that out on my car too, I just sorta jammed it back in. Seems to be ok. Eventually I'll order the little hose piece.

I got mine from my indy MB parts friend. Go to the top of the forum page and click on Buy Parts. You can call Phil at 1-888-333-4642, or check with your local MB dealer.

Good luck,

Dave

Wow, I asked about that nipple a couple weeks ago and nobody heard of it.

Thanks!!! That is a BIG money savings.

In the mean time, I just sealed mine up with spray glue. Now I can just replace the nipple. Excellent!

Apparenly this is the number of the rubber nipple. Anyone know who stocks it? I even called Bosch USA and was told that they don't stock this rubber nipple in the USA

The vacuum hose on the Fuel Regulator I purchased for my W201 was part number 000 078 0281 and I purchased it from my indy MB parts guy.
I found these sites using my part number for $4.79, $4.50 and $3.66

Put in part number for price.
