spark plug wires
I am replacing the spark plug wires on my 1982 280e. I was able to pick up a set of bosch wires inexpensively on ebay. The spark plug connectors are correct (large metal) but the boots going to the distributor cap are too small. I plan to reuse the existing rubber boots, but in order to do so, I have change the brass end caps that go under the boots. I was able to purchase the brass connectors (the ones with the male screw end that goes into the boots) form mercedesshop.com, but have not been able to crimp them properly to the wires. Has anyone out there performed this operation? Please let me know what you used to crimp the connectors to the wires.

This might be a stretch. Maybe the wires don't fit for a reason. Maybe there are apects of that wire set that don't meet your car's requirements (resistance, etc.). Make sure that those wires won't hurt your ignition system.

There is a pair of special Mercedes pliers that are made to do the crimping. You will have to order these to perform this task.
(It would have been better to purchase the correct wires from us)
