Where is my power seat relay? (2000 C230)
I can find the part in a parts catalog easily enough, but I cannot find it in my car. With increasing frequency, both my power seats fail to move. They always fail in tandem, one never works when the other doesn't. So I am convinced (along with confirmation from other sources) that I need a simple new $40 (ouch) relay. But where is it?
Some sources told me that it is a multifunction relay in the trunk which handles the fuel pump. That is an odd combination. The fuel pump relay is there, just a simple 4-prong gadget, not the seven-or-eight legged critter that the combo relay seems to be. The relay I am told I need is also a simple 4-pronged affair (abeit in a different configuration than my pump relay). I looked in the fuse box under the hood, but it is just fuses. Same with the fuse box in the trunk beside the spare. I really don't want to dismember my whole car, as the likeihood of proper reassembly would be remote. Thank you, my friends! |

Duh - typical newbie in the forum, me. I should have read the post already on line before I posted, because this is obviously a common problem. I guess I need to take the whole bottom out of my trunk instead of just the tilt-up part.

The whole thing just pulls out. It is just laying there. Just pull on the tilt up part. Easy.
