722.4 trans help
I just rebuilt my trans and i have a little problem. I have reverse, 1st, 2nd and third. I don't have 4th!!!! problem. well what are some possibilities for the reason why I don't have fourth. I know my governor has a part to do with the up shift.
Here is how it drives... I start out in 1st shifts great up to third. Dose not even try to hit 4th. just stays in third. If anyone knows anything or has an idea please share. I'm open to all ideas. Thanks

The shift into 4th gear, several things must happen.
The most common issue with that problem is related to the K2 clutch pack. Sealing of the teflon seals to the clutch drum & the clearance of the clutch pack. IF the governor wasn't working you wouldn't have ANY shift(s). Could also be the 3-4 shift valve in the valve body. WHAT was the reason for the overhaul? What condition were the K2 clutches in?

The reason for the overhaul was I lost fourth gear. My car would reach fourth gear but then flare when you gave it gas. That was the start of all of this.
I have tried two different valve bodies It is possible that I got the wrong gasket for my plate that the valve body bolts to and the gasket is blocking the whole's I need. I have put all new seals in when I did all this and new clutches. everything else works great. but the shift from 2-3 has a weird slip feeling but that I can change with a few adjustments. thanks
