What is the model number for the speedo cluster in an 84 500SEL?
Does anybody know what the model number for the speedometer cluster in a 1984 500SEL should be? I've been told that the one that's currently in my car is not the original, and is therefore reading my speed inaccurately (reading that I'm going slower than I really am, and growing more inaccurate with increased speed). So if anybody could tell me the model number of the speedo cluster that should be in my '84 500SEL, it'd be greatly appreciated. I think it's supposed to be along the lines of VDO 126 542 54 01, but I'm not sure, so please let me know. Thanks.

According to the EPC, the part number for the speedo gauge is one of the following, depending on delivery market:
USA 010-542-97-06 Canada 010-542-98-06
