I think i have done a good search on here and have yet to find what I am looking for. I have a 1985 380 sl with 85k miles on it. It has the double row chain in it and I am replacing both camshafts. I had the right cam replaced and thought I had the timing chain correct and it started and ran, but with a knock...... I have since decided to replace the timing chain also... rolling the chain like shown in the one help section will not work for me, as I have certianly already messed the timing up.. so, I had the balancer set to 0* and aligned the marks on the cams, all slack on the chain was between the crank and the right camshaft (passanger side) it was tight between cams and tight between crank and left cam.. (did I do this right?????) with one turn of the crank from 0 to 0 that is once full rev so the camshaft revolves 1/2 rotation.... I think I am 180 degrees off on the cams, but do not know, I tried to "feel" to see if #1 (passanger side bumper, right front) was on tdc, but i do not think it was... HELP??? PLEASE????
