Nord-Lock washers

Anyone successfully used these washers that make any nut-bolt combo, self-locking:

I was thinking in some suspension areas and possibly the head-gasket bolts.

Comments, caveats, etc. ?

Head bolts will only loosen in use by stretching, not torsion. Those washers would likely adversely effect getting a correct torque reading while torquing bolts.
