Are you reading codes from pin #7 of the 38 pin connector?
IF so, what are the code number? Pin # 6 is for reading the traction system...traction system turns the ABS lamp on! PIN #7 is for the Electronic accelerator (EA/CC/ISC) system that turns the ASR lamp on! I know it may not make sense, but if you want to know why the ASR lamp is on read codes from PIN #7 |

The codes from pin #7: 6 & 14 Is code 6 for the Neutral Safety Switch? Is 14 for the throttle position switch (CLOSED)? Could the fact the shifter linkage seems to be loose or "off" as in "drive" is between neutral an the actual "drive" indicator, be causing code 6 to be triggered?

Code 6 means that the neutral safety/starter lock-out switch on the trans didn't send a correct signal at some point.
EACH position has a different resistance value...most likely the switch. The code 14 refers to the position of the GAS pedal VS the position of the idle contact in the drivers side throttle actuator. A mis-adjusted throttle cable, broken return spring, or bad switch on the gas pedal are the most likely problem(s). |
Thanks for your valuable input. Spring looks fine, but not sure exactly how to diagnose the other potential causes, any help in how to diagnose further is much appreciated. I'll be glad to get these issues (one-by-one) addressed. I understand the neutral safety switch could be the culprit for code 6, but could a sloppy (bad linkage bushings) cause the switch to trigger a code as well, or not likely?
Next issue will be figuring out why the front sits too low, and the ADS (shock) light that illuminates most times. |
V-12 throttle has 2 return springs on left throttle motor.

Are there supposed to be two (2) springs in front of (or near) the Bowden cable on top of the actuator? If so, I only have one at that location, should I have two (2). There is one inside at the pivot point with the Accelerator Pedal Lever, but obviously not at the actuator motor.

Now I am getting code 10 on Pin #7.

Blink code 10 in the EA/CC/ISC computer suggests that RPM signal from base module is missing OR distorted.
Test is for AC voltage signal from base module to EA computer. Base module is most likely cause. |
Update
I am getting code 21 (pressure switch). The ASR pump is running, but doesn't seem to be making any pressure, and when I open a line there in no fluid coming out, tore the pump down, it all looks good. So is the Charging pump responsible for getting the fluid to the ASR pump? I have been searching for a schematic to help me see exactly how the system works and what lines supply what, but to no avail.

ASR/ABS = ESP
I just found that Mercedes calls these pumps: ESP Charging Pump and Brake Fluid Pump, instead of ASR and/or ABS Pump(s).

The Return Pump/Charge Pump (A7/3m1) and the ASR Pressurizing Pump (M15) work at the same time. See pdf p.31. There is also a pressure switch involved (A7/1s1). |
Yes, it appears thats where things are going. When I clear the codes, it the pressure switch code that I keep getting, and I think its possible that the charge pump-accumulator might be the culprit or maybe some wiring issue, and the Pump itself is spinning well when direct current is applied, but its not pumping any fluid.

According to page 17 of the above pdf, the pressure switch (A7/1s1) is located inside the ASR unit. Have you been able to locate the switch?

Yes, I have taken it all apart. Not sure if the switch itself is available to be purchased separately. First pic is the pump, second is where it came from.
