Which W126 manual (on CD) is the "real" one?

Is it the one with the little menu and the video of the W126 driving along?

It doesn't have much info in it.

Unless stated otherwise, any question I ask is about my greymarket 1985 380SEL.

The real one is the one you get when you call 1-800-for-merc.

Anything else is most likely a bootleg.

The real thing is cheap enough. Why pay the theives selling poor performing, pirate copies?

Thx -CTH

My W126 manual has two disks.. put in your model, and it will tell you which disk you need (My 85 380SE is on Disk 2)

There are major categories, and there are many sub categories within them.. Lotsa info in PDFfiles, if ya got the real deal..

I thought I was getting the real deal - the discs themselves (2 CD's) are printed like "legit" CD's, and are stamped instead of burned.

The problem is, none of the maintenance operations selected for a an '85 380SE w/ a 116 motor are for a 116 motor. Most of the info is for diesels.

I input the exact model you do.

Have you ever tried any of the maintenance operations sections? Everything else on the disk references the correct material, except when it comes to that.

Plus, no transmission coverage.
