Funny cruise control problem

On my 95 S320, my cruise control seems to disengage every time the car engine is warm, and it starts going down a slight downslope. Going uphill, and on the flat, it works just fine, but as soon as the car's nose is about 5 degrees down, it will just disengage, and will not reengage until it's at least level again...
What would cause that to happen??

I read something about the break light switch, could that be the problem?? I have one on order right now... I guess I'll replace it when it gets here, and see what happens...

So, I installed a new break light switch. Now the problem is a bit different. It will work at up to about 118 km/h. if I try to set it any faster, it automatically disengages. Should I be sending my cruise control module to programa for a fix??

Are all your tires the same rolling circumference? If so, suspect one or more dirty ABS sensors.

Either will cause this on a W210, but I'm not sure about your car.

can the sensors be cleaned?? or do they have to be replaced?
getting new tires installed, and a wheel alignment done monday. The front passenger side tire was really badly worn as compared with the others, but it's the same size on the wall. The one front tire is about 60% tread left, but the worn one is right on the wear bars.
Don't know if this will have any effect on the diagnosis, but the light bulb out indicator is always on on this car, even though I can't find a burnt out bulb. From what I understand from the manual, the same module works to check that problem as well...
Mercedes told me that was being caused by the brake switch, but installing a new one didn't change the problem...

Well, on the W210, one badly worn tire will cause this. When I say "the same rolling circumference," I mean the EXACT same. Tire pressure can cause trouble too.

Worry about the ABS sensors if the tires don't fix the problem. If they're dirty, they almost certainly be cleaned.

The tire change seems to have fixed the problem. It held for as long as I could test it on a somewhat busy and slow moving highway...
