Help w/ heater on 90 300E needed!
Hello, and season's greetings to all!
I have a 300E (1990) that was parked for about a year. In that time it was started and run regularily and seemed to basically work fine. Now it is going to used again, except it's freezing outside and the heater blower doesnt work! The power seems to be getting to it because it's causing the lights to flicker as it tries to make the blower turn, then there's a click sound in the dash and then it starts over, ever 2 or so seconds. The lights dim, the click is heard, lights come back, another click dims the lights over and over. The 30A strip fuse is fine (it's quite fresh), and the blower are actually quite recent and I believe also is the regulator. Is the blower jammed/seized (again)? Or is there something I can check that I dont know about? Thanks! |

I had a BMW that sat for a while and mice built a nest in the blower. I tore apart the dash, cleaned it out and the next year they did it again, only this time they chewed up the wiring. I had to replace it all after that.
It could just be slightly stuck from sitting and if you can get it to turn it might start working fine again. Don't burn it up trying though. Maybe try shooting some compressed air into the fan to get it turning? I don't know if that's feasible or not, just a thought. |

That's a good thought. Maybe if I spray some warfarin in there it'll start working...!
