MB 500sl 2001

I closed the top and it locked, or seemed to, but the windows wouldn't close. I closed the windows with the window switch. When I start the car the top won't go down and the switch flashes and beeps. The fuses seem OK and the motor has hydrolic fluid any ides on what is wrong? Also how do I retract it manually, the manual shows how to put it up not down. Help
