lost both windshield wipers and defrost in a snow storm

I lost both windshield wipers and rear defrost while driving in a snow storm. I checked fuses all good and put in a known good combination relay. What could couse both to fail at the same time?

the combination relay combined with a wiper stuck frozen to the windshield. Well see how long I can go without replacing something on the car. Something is always breaking every few months
