So... What Next?
Hey Guys, hope the New Year has been treating you well,
The other day, I decided to peruse my old service records and put them all on an excel spreadsheet for ease of access, but now it has me wondering: what should I watch out for/overhaul next? Keep in mind this is my daily driver, the 1987 560 SEL (that I realized I have yet to post any pictures of) with 205,000-ish miles on it... -The A/T was rebuilt and overhauled at 129,000 -Ignition Lock and the likes were replaced at 135,000 -Fuel Filter, Fuel pump hose, and fuel feed and return lines replaced at 138,000 -Fuel level sender and gasket at 140,000 -the antenna mast at 141,000 - headlight lenses and doors, valve cover gaskets, front shocks, tie rod assemblies, upper control arms, stabilizer bar to upper control arm bushings, ball joints, drag link, idler bushings, and steering dampener at 143,000. -Starter motor replaced at 145,000 -Radiator, center and rear mufflers at 147,000 -All the belts at 150,000 -Fuel injectors, injector buckets, air tubes and fuel filter at 151,000. -all the switches at 152,000 - Fuel distributor at 153,000 - O2 sensor at 154,000. - Front carrier bushings and steering box at 157,000 - Valves were ground, re-calibrated the valve guides, cylinder heads resurfaced, both head gaskets, timing chain stuff, 8 rocker arms, idler air hoses, air pump check valve, upper seal ring, cam oiler, thermostat, upper housing water pump gasket, motor mounts, radiator mounts, injector cup o-rings, cold start valve gasket, 2 ignition brackets, oil pan gasket, oil level sender, new A/T fluid, A/T seal (had the chassis and doors lubed) at 159,000 -rear ride height sensor adjustment at 174,000 -O2 sensor again at 175,000 -and finally the blower motor and front left window regulator at 202,000. I have no idea where I came up with the dough to even do that (tallied all up, it cost me over 22,000 ![]() I'm guessing my rear suspensions gonna need some work soon, but other than that, what else looks suspect? Thanks again guys, Carlen |
