Steering Wheel Changeout

Fellow members:

Any implications/issues with changing out an airbag steering wheel for a "non-bag" model? I'd like to get a nice Momo wheel (non-bag) to replace my stock "bagged" wheel. Momo being a class supplier, I would imagine has a hub kit for just about any application -- correct? Is this a DIY, or take it to my mechanic? I've read that anytime you dink with an airbag it can be dangerous if you DON'T know what you're doing.

Thanks in advance for any/all advice!

Since the life of the air-bag has been determined to be around 15 years either you replace it or remove it. Suggest you let your auto insurance company know that it has been removed. MOST shops won't remove air-bag systems. Too many lawyers out there.

...Also, you are going to get a constant SRS light I believe...you may be able to duplicate the resistance value and it will fool the PCM...;)
