1997 M104 Leaking Oil Fill Cap
My car leaves some drips overnight. It's coming from the oil cap. The cap is new, this is the third one. It's an OEM from FastLane. It doesn't seal, and I think the problem is not so much the cap as it is the valve cover. The finish is bubbling, and the oil seeps and pools right out, drips down the side of the engine, and ends up on the floor. It is visible and obvious. If I steam clean the engine, the floor will be drip free for a couple of months before the seepage accumulates on the engine and begins to drip again.
Anyone have any ideas for fixing this? Refinish the valve cover? Replace it? Replacing the cap or the gasket won't fix it, been there done that.
