odd engine surge at 1500rpm...

Here's what happens...
Every day I drive to work on the freeway (nice 4 mile commute!), toward the end of my journey is a downhill run on the freeway, so I take my foot off the gas. When the tach goes just below 1500 rpm, (about 1400 or so) it will surge up a little (to about 1600) and then drops down below 1500 again. I can feel the car accelerate slightly when it does this. It will do this once or twice at this exact point in my drive to work every day (for the last week or so). There aren't any other symptoms as far as I can tell, any ideas??
thanks!
Justin

Almost all MB's have deceleration shutoff that cuts down on emissions. WHAT year & model is your car??

Sounds like normal operation, durning decel the CIS computer allows the fuel pressure in the fuel distributor to equalize so that very little fuel would be injected.

Justin: All of my 1986+ cars have done that. I don't remember if the earlier ones do or not, but it's normal.

I guess I just never noticed it...
Perhaps it's been so long since any work has had to be done that I'm just looking for problems (gotta fix SOMETHING!)
Anyway, thanks for the help!
Justin
