124 Seat swap from E320 to older 300

Has anyone swapped seats between 124s with this 5 year (approx) age difference. I found a junker with some nice seats with better lumbar support than my old MB Tex seats, that got me thinking. These are not the ortho seats, but they had better lumbar support and firmer seat support than mine. The E320s are leather and less soft to absorbing a pressure push, more like a bmw's from that era. And the seat bottom "looks the same".

Do the electrics swap? or is is possible to dismantle the seat/back and attach them to the functionality of my electrics?
Thanks

Do both cars have memory or non memory seats?

my '87 300 has memory seats - the green circle. I didn't check the E320 but it was fully appointed with leather seats, well cared for, sliding wood box top on the console, so let's assume it does.

Every one I've seen looked the same wrt mounts.

You can always pop the seat base off the electric track and reuse your old track on the new seat.

Head rest and recline is a plug in connection under the seat, should be the same.

I have a set of '88 and '87 seats in the shop, the electricl connections are the same.

It might make more sense to swap the seats and keep your original seat-base.

This is starting to sound like the next project! I just wish it hadn't just rained yesterday. The 320's sunroof is 1/4 opened. Maybe I'll get a better price. Thanks guys.
