89 S420 Shifter/Transmission Problems
My wife's 89 S420 doesn't stay still in park, it will roll if on an incline. I'm worried about taking it to a transmission shop or even the MB dealer and getting shafted.
The car runs great other than that. No other problems but it's 21 years old and my cost more than it's worth. Any ideas on someone having the same problem and what was the outcome? Thanks to all ahead of time

As per the shifter linkage idea. Is there any slop in the shifter when you move it between gears?
If so then it could be as simple as the couple of rubber bushes.

Check the shifter bushings.

Define slop for me?
Next weekend I going underneith to check out the linkage. Is there anything I should watch for or avoid touching/ Thanks
