The rear of my 380sl is sagging. So I was thinking of installing shims to raise it. However, I would like to avoid having to take the interior panels out to unfasten the shocks that go up through the springs.
I was therefore wondering if I could cut the shims, compress the springs, and slide the shims into position around the shocks. I could glue the shims back together and into position. if necessary, but it seems that once the springs were de-compressed, they would hold the shims in place.
Anybody know of anything that would prevent this from working?
Thanks in advance.
