Idler Arm Bushing Replacement

I was getting that often, discussed groaning sound from the passenger side floorboard of my 380sl when I turn wheel, particularly after driving for a while. So I used a stethoscope to narrow the sound down to the tube that holds the idler arm bushing.

I then tried loosening the retaining nut by inserting an extension with a 15/16" socket down through the engine compartment, but I couldn't budge the nut no matter how much force or leverage I applied to a long breaker bar, even after I torched the nut. So I guess I'm going to have to get under the car and cut the head off off the bolt with a dremel and cutting wheel.

Assuming that it can be done that way (?), I was wondering just how hard or easy it is to remove the bushings, since several people have said that they had a lot of trouble getting them out. As I don't want to end up with an undrivable car, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to get them out if they don't come out easily?

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks
