Transmission Leak

Hello Everyone, I just bought my first MB 88 300E 197K. Anyway I'm putting it back together with some of the normal wear and tear stuff, the one thing that is unusual is the Transmission gasket has let go three times now and leaks fluid all over the place.

The shop I had do the work said there were going to a different manufacture for this new gasket, but geez its a rubber whats going on for it to blow out like that. It usually last about two weeks and then all of sudden there is fluid all over the floor.

the same thing was happening to my 88 300e till I replaced the trans pan. It does not look bent but it is very slightly from overtorq. When you get the new pan follow the torque recomendations and do not exdeed it!
I chased this problem for a very long time not wanting to belive it was the pan because it looked good. Dry as a bone now! John......................
