coolant coming out of exhaust port on tilted, stripped engine

I have just stripped down both of my M117 5.5 liter engines and I tilted one of them back so i could get at the A/C bracket to remove it and coolant came pouring out of the furthest back exhaust port on the drivers side of the engine.

it is feasible that some of the coolant that was in the intake manifold and I removed it, that some coolant got into that port and both valves may be open just a small amount to allow coolant to have gotten through.

it is also possible I guess that the HG on that side of the engine is toast (I got it from a salvage yard and told it was good but never heard it run).

is there anything I can do short of pulling the head to know whether or not I have a problem?

I have another motor as well, but I would rather not transfer my oil pan as its pretty damn difficult to do.

Thanks!
