cam timing retarded
If the timing chain is streched 7 degrees so the timing is retarded, what effect does that have on the performance of the engine? Will it make it ping under full throttle, for instance? Do you lose or gain power? Thanks in advance.

Because the cam runs at half crank speed, 7 degrees will not usually cause a running problem or noticeable performance issues. I have seen them out 13-14 degrees with no noticeable problems with the exception of noise from the chain.
