Changing Fuel Distributor on 300E

I have two spare fuel distributors, one is from a 1990 300E and the other from a 1987 300e. My car is an 1989 300E, i want to switch my distributor with the 90. My question is do I have to reset the Lamda, and what is that, the ECU??? I have the service manual on my computer and it seems that i just unscrew all the fittings and reattach. Seems easy enough, i didnt see anything for torque specs either. Is there more than meets the eye or is it really an easy DIY job??
