| Do you know what this is? I found this on the floor of my garage after I backed my E320 out last evening. Any idea what it is or where it came from? Thanks, Christine |

That's what I thought or maybe a cellphone antenna, but I have a CrackBerry and can't even remember the last time that I had a pen in my car or garage! My main concern is that it might be something important that broke and fell off of my car. Christine |

Need a sense of scale, can you do a pic again with a coin next to it? It doesn't look like any MB part that comes to mind. edit: just saw it was on the GARAGE floor, I was thinking inside floor of the car. Still drawing a blank. Anything else in there that comes to mind that might be spewing parts? It has the spring so obviously could have shot a pretty good distance. Some sort of spring-loaded button. Bicycle? Another car? Garage door opener? Lawn mower? How about some sort of lawn mower part, like to adjust the wheels or remove the grass bag? Gilly

| MYSTERY SOLVED!

This was driving me crazy so I went out and began combing over the car from front to rear. After I popped the hood and started checking things out closely, I located what appeared to be a trigger switch for the alarm system that was missing it's plunger! I suppose this switch must have been put in prior to the installer discovering that the battery is located under the back seat because it was never wired up. lol I guess the plunger must have popped out of the switch during one of the many times that I have opened and closed the hood over the past several days. Whew! I was thinking that I had opened up a whole new can of worms for a little while! Christine |
