1987 260E Abs System?
car stat: 1987 260E
I wonder if it's possible to switch off the ABS Brake system on this? It is giving me trouble like the sensor is bad or something. Basically the just kicks back at me when I come to stop light or something. It's not raining, it's not snowing. It behaves like the ABS is compensating for something like you get on a winter day driving on the snow. It's worst when the car just started up from cold. Gradually disappears after about 10 minutes driving. Is it possible to disable ABS altogether and just drive like an older car that has no ABS. What usually cause this? ABS pump gone bad? or ABS sensors gone bad? Thanks! |

Probably a sensor, might be worth checking it out. But otherwise, I believe you jst need to disconnect, electrically, the pump, and it's stop just like a non-ABS car, the valves will all just stay open.

I was gonna try to see if I can pull a fuse. But if I can't find one I will try your method. Worth a try.

Might be a relay instead of or in conjunction with a fuse. Although it's possible the OVP relay acts as the electrical protection.

take the cover off the abs pump and unplug the two relays you will find there.this will disable the abs.
