W124 rear window regulators

Did a search and found the question but no real answer.

1992 W124 rear window regulator - dead in full up position (motor is the issue). This means you cant move the regulator up to get it unhooked from the top clip - as far as I can see. Looks like I can pull the motor body from the assembly via the two screws that hold it in place, then the worm drive should be able to freewheel as the worm will be removed.

Any other solutions? I'll follow up once I get it out.

In case it matters - this is on a parts car, on the running car the rear window is exhibiting a working rear window that wont close all the way - stops about 2" short. From reading it looks like it may be the retaining clip comming out allowing things to pop loose. Figured I'd get the one out of the parts car. It is possible to swap motors if the regulator is buggered - I've done it a bunch of times on W126 regulators and the motor body looks the same.
