				Windows working slow

My front windows in a 94 124 Coupe are winding up and down slowly. It feels/looks like maybe something needs lubrication. Can someone let me know if there is anything I should be doing to them as part of servicing? Thanks

No servicing...Motor could be getting tired or the wiring is beginning to fray in the door jam. Apply a 12V battery to the motor directly and see what speed it goes down. If it is faster than usual you can assume the wiring is beginning to get increasing resistance. I am no electrician though.

I know the w126 window regulators do require occasional cleaning and lubrication, though it's often neglected. Some of the later models have a speed check for window closing speed as part of their inspection, which would imply servicing the mechanism if the windows didn't close at the proper rate.
