W210 Steering Wheel won't budge!!

I am trying to replace the combo switch on my '97 E300D. Unfortunately, the 10MM hex bolt does not want to budge. I have followed the steps I have found in various posts but to no avail:-( I have used a helper to hold the wheel, + a breaker bar to break it loose. The point on the hex tool has started to turn slightly when the bolt hasn't....so it is starting to strip:-(

Any recommendations/tricks, etc. on how to get this thing out would be much appreciated. I don't know why mercedes put a bolt like that in there in the first place as there is plenty of room for a "normal" bolt head to portrude.

Should I try an impact wrench? JB weld? Or?

Thanks in advance!!!

Brian
