Question possible b2 piston problem? HELP!!

I could really use some help before I spend a small fortune on a new tranny.
I posted this before but got no response.
My 1982 300d turbo is slipping only in first gear, catches, then shifts with no problem thru the rest of the gears.
I had a new filter, fluid & modulator done about 1000mi ago, then this problem started, my MB mechanic has decided to close up shop after 40yrs, so I can't take it back for a look see.
Does this sound like it could be the b2 piston?
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go the new tranny route.
