Front Brake pads in C320 wagon (2002)

All my experience with Mercedes has been limited to diesel 300s between the years of 1979 and 1987. Not too long ago we acquired a 2002 C320 wagon.....are the brake pads as easy to change in these as with the older models? the pads look similar in that they slide in/out and pin in place.

I wasn't sure if the calipers on the newer vehicles were so different that I couldn't easily do the job. On the older models I can pretty much replace the front pads in 20min or less...not that it is a race

Thanks for the advice. -harv

I've done my brake pads on my 2002 C240 Sedan and on the 1983 380 SEL. The C Class was much easier! Just undo the two bolts holding the Caliper and slide out the pads and replace.

I found that the only sensor was on the front passenger side. The driver's side didn't have a brake pad wear sensor.

Good luck.

Brad.

One other note:

The Brake Pad Wear Sensor has two wires and a two pin plug. The computer will recognize if you don't install it, so be sure you order the correct sensor....
