radiator

I just wanted to get some thinking on the purchase of a new radiator. Would the Behr line be worth the extra bucks over the Nissen? There both aluminum with the plastic tanks. I didn't see a spec. on the Behr, but I think there both a two row. They seem to not be over designed on cooling the M103's. This is my second time to remove it. I had it repaired about 3 month's ago, and the tanks are leaking again. Not intending to make that mistake a 2nd. time!

Rebe, recommend buying a new Behr radiator. Installed a new Behr radiator (with the metal-reinforced hose connectors) in our 1991 300CE 10 years ago and have never had any problems since.

Don't forget to use the correct recommended coolant.

I appreciate the information. I was thinking about replacing the serpentine belt while I was at it. Do you know how long they are supposed to go. It was replaced at 69K & it's got 80's on it now? It kind of shows some cracks on the underside, but none of the splines are broken out or gone.

Cracks are bad. The belts aren't that expensive.

Hopefully your belt tensioner is still O.K.

both Nissens and Behr are almost identical in quality. I've used both. I would personally recommend Nissens. New radiator + water pump with A/C on and 115F here in AZ a few months ago, car never goes above 95C even in traffic. Quite incredible.
