91 4matic
If you pay taxes, thank you for buying my 91 4matic sedan. The money came in handy when I purchased a 2009 VW Rabbit for my wife.

Was it a 300E 4matic? What is your opinion on the 4matic system?
I would only want a Rabbit diesel....I imagine 60+mpg would not be impossible....

Opinion on 4matic?
My opinion after having owned a '91 300TE 4matic is that the car is excellent, the 4matic system however is only a decent AWD system and far short in performance of a permanently-engaged AWD system like the quattro et al.
It also was fairly trouble-free for the first 60,000 miles, after that the transfer case and hydraulics started to cost expensive maintenance. I drove it until ~119,000miles IIRC. I would run (fast) away from a used one.

It just occurred to me that you meant the clunkers rebate. Nooo.....not another MB crushed for a VW!
