While checking my oil in my '75 450se, I found that the dipstick read about a half a quart too high and the oil smelled like gas! We haven't had this car very long and know it sat for a couple of years, although it was started regularly, just not driven. We were told it needed a new fuel pump (the old one was leaking) and they gave us the new, uninstalled pump. It was not OEM, but we went ahead and tried it. It's not stalling or running rough, but the oil has gas init. Could this be the fuel pump not properly working or what else should I look for?
