Question C220 will not start

Hello,

I have a problem with my wife's 96 C220. I replaced the motor mounts on the car, and now the car cranks over but there is no spark at the cylinders.

Before I even touched the mounts It was starting and running fine except for the vibration at idle.

I have read that it could be the crank position sensor or the OVP. I removed the overload protection relay and jumped positions 1 and 2 and heard fuel move into the engine then the car started then stopped...im thinking OVP...

Could it just be a freak occurance?...the relay cover did come off in my hand when i removed it..and the solder connections do look a little iffy.

I checked all the connections underneath and everything seems to be in order..

The car has 151,000 miles on it now...any advice is appreciated...

Much Thanks

-Rashad

Are the red/green lights on the mirror flashing?

Have you tried liocking/unlocking the car?

Wiring harness?

Look at the engine wiring harness. Does it have cracked insulation? I replaced the engine wiring harness on my 95 C220 and when I was replacing a bad head gasket the wires that connect to the coils went bad also. By moving the engine around you may have shorted out the wires that connect to the coils. I would start there. John
