E320 Cabriolet Top operation issue

Alrighty, got everything in, clamped, bolted, plugged in, etc. Nothing is leaking but now the top does not want to go into the hole.

The bow lifts, but the tonneu cover will not unlatch and pop open. If manually opened the tonneu will close it self when doing the open convertible top operation.

all microswitches are plugged in properly, all lines go to their proper ports, all clips are in place. I'm at a loss

Is your switch flashing?

There is a switch that tells the cover that the bow is raised, it's on the right (passenger's side) it sounds like it is not getting activated. I tried to find a link for you it's 77-435 in the factory service manual. You would not have has any need to touch it in what you did.

Another suggestion, retract the top manually and see if it will close with the switch, if so then try to open it.

You may have a stored fault code that you need to clear.

Edit here's the link http://w124-zone.com/downloads/MB%20CD/W124/w124CD2/Program/Chassis/77-435.pdfhttp://w124-zone.com/downloads/MB%20...sis/77-435.pdf

That would be odd. Everything is back I it's place exactly as it was before I removed everything. I'll try what you mentioned tomorrow

What position are your side windows in when you start the top lowering procedure.

I find at times if my side windows are down the lowering process will not operate properly.

Never have a problem with the windows up and allow the top switch to begin the process by lowering the side windows.

I did it with the top latched, windows closed.

The front of the top unlatched, press the button, windows go down, bow lifts, tonneu refuses to lift.

You did reconnect the passenger's side bow cylinder cable where it come out near the speaker? If the bow is raising and the cover is not lifting sounds like the car does not think the bow is up.

Ding, it was that...

I just got home from the store and played with the top while sitting in the driveway. I looked over and noticed, hmmm that's not connected.

and voila! The top functions perfectly. No leaks from where it was leaking before, no noises. It's awesome. Klausee Witte @ Top Hydraulics inc did a smashing job!

I do need to figure out why the front latch is difficult, I shouldn't have to slam it to latch it.
