more water leak spots

My recent purchase of my first Benz (Benny) an '82 240D leaked a lot of water into the passenger area. After reading many posts and thinking I had it fixed, clearing the drain holes etc. ; it still got wet. I then put a bright light against the firewall on a dark night and saw many "stars" of light when looking at the firewall from the engine compartment. These were where plumbing grommets had shrunk and no longer sealed the passage. I sealed these voids with silicon the next day and have been dry ever since!
