86 300E as daily driver and winter car?

A local 300E is for sale, not winter driven so no rust. Dealer maintained until original owner left it to a family member 5 years ago. AC does not work (compressor issue supposedly) and cruise control is flakey, but other than that all electricals work. New rad and ABS module during recent years. The car has around 160,000 miles and is available for around $2000.

How reliable or practical would this car be for a daily driver, especially in winter? What should I pay particular attention to in checking it out (head gasket?). Thanks.
