Except he already installed a new conductor plate. P0715 pops up in the Mercedes ECU any time the 722.6 misbehaves. It could be a bad speed sensor in the brand new conductor plate, it could be no communication with the TCM, it could be oil in the wiring harness. Mine gave P0715 because the TCM was full of ATF that had wicked up throgh the wiring harness. You can't just go by the generic OBD2 codes you find online.

Most likely a conductor plate problem with P715. Easy to change out if you are good in diy. A 7 out 10 difficulty job. No special tools needed. The connector is full of ATF and it affects the sensor readings. Probably nothing wrong with sensor.

Perfect! I have a new Conductor Plate & AT Filter Kit so I should be back on the road soon. You have been very helpful! Thanks so much...

I replaced the CP and still have a P0715 - I hear a bad TCM/TCU could be the cause, if I can locate it on the car I will write down the part # - can someone explain where to find it?

Hello - I hope you can provide some guidance; your credentials are certainly extensive! I replaced the Conductor Plate and the Transmission still will not upshift from a low speed start. I bought an Innova Code Reader which works great at detecting the problems in my '06 E350AWD. After the Auto Trans Service, I cleared the codes with my Innova Code Reader. It cleared it but the error came right back. I spoke to my local dealer, but they said they don't work on Auto Transmissions from the 2006 time frame; if they get a problem, they just replace them at an estimated approx. cost of $8000...

A local Indy who works on our Ford recently bought a $13000 engine analyzing machine (per the front clerk) - What specs should I ask about if I check with him to see if his machine will read & clear the MB AT Codes?

BTW - I have seen comments about clearing the codes and some state the code will clear itself when the problem is repaired, while others say the only way to clear the Error Code is to use the MB Star System, leaving me (and I suspect others), very confused and frustated.

Finally the TCM is supposed to be in the Passenger Foot well. I pulled the cover but only found a courtesy light - Any other places to look (and what does it look like) ?

Thanks!
