1986 300E Factory Alarm Pin-outs

OK, need some advice. I have a 1986 300E, 102K miles, in good shape. Fixing it up for my 14 year old to have when he turns 16. I bought a cheapo ($16 from Hong Kong) keyless entry on eBay and installed it, works great. I want to have the lights flash and the horn honk when I lock and unlock. I started looking around the car and got to the factory alarm under the passenger side front carpet which was disconnected. I read that most people disconnect this because it is problematic.

The alarm box is a MB 126 820 08 26/BAW 845 Z 0000 unit. It has two plugs, one 8 pin (009 545 17 28) and one 14 pin (010 545 86 28). I traced that on the 8 pin plug pin 3 lights up the side lights and pin 1 honk’s the alarm horn under the hood. I can wire the keyless entry box wire for flashing the lights to both pin 1 and 3 and I should get lights and horn when locking and unlocking.

My question is does anyone have a schematic of what all the pins do on both plugs? I now am thinking about a full fledge after-market alarm and want to use the pins on those two connections to wire it up. I am sure they have the features an alarm system would need are in those two plugs.

Thanks in advance

What you can use is connector X1 (8 pin)
pin 2 is Right Parking Lamps
pin 3 is Left Parking Lamps
pin 8 is Head Lamps

I would like to suggest you don't use the HORN. The horn is an emergency device, not a casual indicator. It may have never happened to you but it will scare me severly if a horn blows as I walk by a car. I know that new cars do it, but that doesn't make it right. If your system has an emergency horn function, then that is all right, but not just to let you know that the doors lock or unlock.

If you connect pin 2 and 3 together, you will loose the standing light function which we don't need in this country.

Thanks pmckechnie, this helps. Do you happen to know the pin outs for the 14 pin plug also? I was thinking of adding an alarm to the keyless entry and wondering if I could use some of the wiring in the 14 pin harness to accomplish some ancillary connections for the doors, hood, trunk, etc.

Thanks

Clancy
