Is that your best price on the rental? Also, for how long would you rent it?
I believe performance products rents it for 3 weeks for $85.

APB

Please give me a call if you need to rent this tool. I paid over $700. from the parts shop. All of the other places that rent these would not have any for months. This tool has been used just one time and is in perfect cond. If you need this for 4 or 5 weeks that is ok. I hope you understand why I need a large deposit. Call me if you have any questions about how hard it is to change the springs. 775-246-5444 Kevin

I think I will tackle this in January. I will give you a call then. I would rather have you benefit from the rental.
It would be nice if this forum would create some type of tool rental program for benz owners.

Also, is there a way to run the deposit through a credit card. I understand the need for a deposit, of course, but I end up carrying all the risk if I hand you $600 - I could end up with the tool which I do not want.

Spring Compressor

We will talk next month. Changing springs is not to bad. I changed the springs on my 500SL with Eibachs. These seem to be just right with the HD Bilstens. The front is faster than the rear to change. Total about 3 1/2 hours. You will need to keep the compressor long enough to change the pads if the car is not level. Don't worry I need the tool back here in my shop. We can run the deposit on your card this is ok with me. My shop is KKM Precision we are a CNC machine shop. This is were the card will run through. Kevin

Which brand compressor is this? Is it the Sir Tools or the Klann?
Do you have a picture of it?

Spring compressor

The one that I have is by Sir tools. There are two plates , one for top and bottom of the spring. The screw rod goes up the middle. There is no way that the rod can slip off of the plates. Just put one plate high and the other low on the spring and use a rachet to compress the two plates together.

Is it still availble for rent?

I need to do a few projects.

Will it work on a 300CE and an SLK?

Tool Rental

I agree with APB, it would be nice to have a way, better than a Forum, of who has what specialty tool available (even a simple list). Especially useful to us DIYers.
Off the subject, I wish there was a better way for members to recommend good "Indy" MB shops other than the Forum currently provides. Again a simple list or clickable map would be great.
