MAN, Donnie, can you make my diesel do that???!!! :D
...just kidding..... :) Mike |
Good Job
Donnie. I really enjoyed the pics of the Atlanta Dragstrip. Looking forward to being up there in May (May 4-6th - Southern Nationals). How bout building one for the Pro Mod circuit? :) Why didn't you show the picture of you warming up the tires like the one attached?

It's a sign of how damn fast this car is. Remember Back To The Future - 88MPH was the threshold! :D :D :D :D
Actually, I believe the linked page had probaby been updated on the 15th. |
Supercar!
WOW!!!

hate to reiterate...but
Damn is that car sick! I saw it in the pic, but you didn't even list that the car had a Kleeman speed-sensitive suspension, isn't that a killer mod in itself??
I somehow doubt kleeman has anything for my '99 E300 turbodiesel. I wonder why nobody makes diesel performance parts, considering their more sturdy build. I know those dodge cummins guys build some ruthless diesels, 500hp,1000 lb/ft torque.. |
Theres plenty of performance out there for a diesel. you just happen to be on the wrong side of the pond to see any of it.

I love the car, but the only thing I do not like about it is the intake. The one that replced the stock CLK seems to be abit restrictive.
So Kleemann are you working on a better one that will keep the ram air of the stock intake kind of like what Carlsson has done for the 32K. http://www.carlsson.de/bildseiten/e210/cm32k.jpg I just think that this type of intake would be better. Subman |
Air intake box
Subman-
Yes- KLEEMANN has V8 and V6 airboxes that use the existing air routing in development. The first prototypes have been delivered to KDK. Some small adjustments were required so final units will be 1 month away. The KLEEMANN air box will sit on top like the factory unit and use the two duct holes at either side of the radiator. "ramair" if you will (I wonder if Pontiac knew that they were coining a pop culture phrase when they came up with that in the 60's?). ;) |
Donnie,
Congratulation to a great job. Keep us posted. Gunter |
Very nice Benzmac

12.4 in a stock looking CLK coupe? Yowza!
The problem? Hhhmm... $93,000 for a CLK55. $10K or so for bits. $5K or so for labour. $10K for brakes and other parts. $10K for wheels and tires. (19" multi-piece wheels? I've owned lots of cars that cost less than ONE, much less a set!) Probably staring $130K+ by the time it's done. (Canuck bucks) I could get a NEW C32 AMG and a CLK320 Cabriolet for about the same money, but there's no 12.4 quarters to be had... |
COOL!
12.415 for quarter miles. I wish MBautowerks were in CA. :D |
