obd2 scanners
Hi
I have a 1992 w124 220te which I am having problems with, to check the fault codes can I use a cheap obd2 can bus scanner (maxiscan or similar) with an interface cable (can bus to banana plug) or is it more complex than that? Gary

I'm pretty sure you don't have a plug in for OBD. There should be a block with pins to test codes on that model and you will need to make your own tester. Here is a thread for a later model that is going to be real similar. Do a search on W124 diagnostics and you should find plenty of reading on the matter.
