W203 VMI or Open MB Campaign

One of my daughters Benz is at the dealership, initially for a four wheel alignment. Then the service advisor called, seems that they have been looking for thing wrong with a 7 year old car with just over 107K on the odometer.

First and foremost this post is to ask if anyone can direct me to the 'open campaign' for 'cam shaft solenoid' issue on this 2005 W203. The dealer has agreed to perform the campaign issues, such as changing a wiring harness since oil has been entrapped and to change the main engine control module since both items are as a result of the this cam shaft solenoid campaign.

But then the fun starts, they also offered that the 'cam magnets' need replaced for an additional $200. The SA advised since the other work from the campaign was being done that some of the cost of labor is covered by the campaign.

Then of courst there are other things, like SRS wiring harnes that apparently had a campaign on it up to 100K but since we have exceeded that its gonna be another $739 for the harness replacement. Non working light bulbs as well.

Reportedly the alignment was stopped as the 'thrust arm bushings" are leaking and need replaced. This is quoted at $661. Then the alignment would be done. I had the alignment checked recently when we purchased a new set of Continentals, since there was no charge for checking. The report only showed the right rear out of tolerance for camber by -1.5 degrees.

In summary I need a little advice and possible help in understanding what is to be replaced in this open campaign 'cam shaft solenoid'.

If someone runs a VMI you will most likely see that the vehicle has been maintained by indy's since my purchase in Jan 2010. It's a college students car and she/we do not want a new MB rolling down the road in a shell that is a 2005 model. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
