2007 C230 Cel Problems P0022

Hello
Cel light came on today pulled codes it's showing P0022 Camshaft position-timing over retarded bank 2. Is this the passengers side or drivers side? Sensor or the magnet anyway to read values on them I'm not familiar with this model just purchased it 4 months ago any help is appriciated.

After reading on the internet i found the following info.

The 2007 has 3 common things that may fail prematurely. 1 is the fuel pump, 2 is the bad cam magnets, and 3 is the conductor plate on the 7G transmission. Since you are getting the fuel pump out of the way, you are doing pretty good. The cam magnets are a very cheap and easy fix, the conductor plate on the other hand is about an ~$1200 repair.

The fuel pump doesn't apply in my case the car runs and drives great just CEL. Since the magnets on the cams are around $25 each should I just go and replace all 4?

Thanks

That is what MB suggests, replacement of all 4 solenoids.

Make sure to change oil at least every 10K miles & trans fluid every 40K!

When I bought the car 4 months ago I went to local MB dealer asked for service records, only 1 oil change was done at 13k mi. Service adviser said probably was serviced at independant shop and no open campaign , it's 2007 c230 sport 52k mi.Changed the oil and air filters.

CEL is gone just unpluged all the conections from cam magnets pluged them back, turned the car on and no CEL. If CEL comes back I'll just replace them local MB dealer has them in stock $28 each.

Thanks
