I have 2 request for remedies...
1. On cooler mornings (below 35 degrees F) I have a vibration and noise when I turn my steering. Once the car warms up, the noise goes away. On warmer mornings, the noise is gone or barely noticable. Any suggestions?? 2. I have a loud squeaking (sometimes crunching) noise in my front suspension - very noticable when the nose of the car dives while braking. I had some frontend work done (shocks, bushings, tie rods) which seemed to quiet things down for a while... but it's coming back. Thoughts?? Thanks! |

A crunch sound from the front end of these cars can sometimes be indicative of worn out engine mounts. This is of course one of many possibilities. Pop the hood and go to the passenger side. Look down at the passenger side engine mount that's just below the exhaust manifold. Is it collapsed? If so, the drivers side mount is likely gone as well. There is also a transmission-side engine mount.

crunching sound...
Thanks for the response.
I just had the engine mounts replaced. I am able to depress the front and sometimes produce what seems to be a similar sound... |
