87 190E 2.3-16V CV AXLES
So, I have a terrible clicking/clunking sound comming from the rear. I crawled under there and found a small amount of play in the rear axle shafts and all four boots are torn.
I have the annualr axles and want to rebuild them, but I have a few questions. #1. Are axles from the 2.3-16 and the 2.5 interchangeable? I noticed the A1 cardone uses the same part number for both. P/N: 60-9437 #2. Where can I get a kit to rebuild the axles at? So, far i have only found the CV joint itself and for not much cheaper than the price of the rebuilt axles from CVJ or A1 Cardone. While I am changing out the CV Axles I am planning on replacing or repacking the Rear Wheel bearings and also doing the differential oil seals, carrier bearing and flex discs. Might as well nail all of it while I'm down there.

Please post your experience as I might be attempting the same. Good luck!

If it's already clicking I'd just go ahead and get the whole axles. As to them being the same as the 2.5, I'm not certain but I think so. They are the same length and bolt pattern, I'm almost certain. The rear bearings aren't serviceable, and to replace them you will need to take the whole knuckle off and use a hydraulic press. These 190's have sealed, double roller ball bearings. If they don't wobble or make noise, I'd just as soon leave them alone.
